Definitely New Zealand's adventure capital...its lakes and mountain setting is spectacular, as are the all action activities on offer - bungy jumping, jet boating, white water rafting,skiing,and for the slightly less adventurous such as ourselves plenty of shopping and eateries, walking, and of course the lake cruise on the historic steamship Earnslaw.Our selected accomodation was at the 3* Kingsgate Hotel Terraces, a five minute walk from the centre of town,and a couple of minutes walk from its splendid sister the Millennium Hotel, with its 5* facilities.
